In 1996 two guitarists, Jason Casatelli and Michael Romagnino, founded Civilized Animals in Nutley, N.J. after being inspired by the Northwest music scene.
Alone and misunderstood, Civilized Animals decided to travel. At the stroke of midnight on New Years Day 1998 they embarked on a journey to the West Coast. In San Diego the group met their drummer Brock Boehm from Houston, TX. Drawn by the challenge, they moved to Seattle, WA.
With endless stories and tremendous adventures Civilized Animals' songs emerged into original works. Using chorusing vocals and drum driven intertwining guitars, they captured the essence of rock music. The Civilized Animals live with persistence and sacrifice, a group's passion into music through unity.
